Project Overview

This children's series will teach participants about the art of music, dance, and comedy. Through Mobile Comedy Suitcase, participants will learn several different artistic techniques to make people laugh. Topics will include joke writing and telling, improvisation, make your own mad lib, puns, hyperbole, repetition, and timing. The Douala Soul collective will share their ethnic roots and an international vibe as they DJ and dance. Wonder Drum, a mobile hub for rhythm, allows people to play percussion together.

Participants will learn about different genres of music and dance and learn how to express themselves through comedy, music, and dance. Participants will play, learn, laugh, connect, and create music, dance, and art together.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Children ages 6-12 learned new art forms, including Chinese calligraphy, face painting, puppetry, and beat boxing. More than 90% of participants stated they enjoyed one or more of these programs and that they would like similar programs in the future.
