Project Overview

The President of the United States has a remarkable, unchecked power: they can release any federal prisoner or wipe away the effects of a conviction with a pardon. This ancient practice goes back at least two millennia, and in our own time has been a source of speculation, scandal and triumph. Join us as Professor Osler of St. Thomas discusses the history of the pardon power, and its use in modern times.
