Midsummer Night's Dream: Panel discussion and all Black ensemble performances of "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Act Out: Theater classes for all ages, with a variety of topics: creative movement, storymaking, storytelling, playmaking, acting games, musical theater, play reading, and voice and speech.

zAmya Theater Project: weekly Creative Sessions with patrons experiencing homelessness. Workshops build theater skills and generate material towards a performance.

Midsummer Night's Dream: Patrons will hear scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Patrons will learn about the how and why of this version of Midsummer. Patrons will experience a high quality all-Black cast performance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Act Out: Participants will learn more about theater and acting. Patrons will have the opportunity to try out acting. Patrons will meet new people.

zAmya Theater Project: Patrons experiencing Homelessness will be empowered in the decision making for programs and services at Minneapolis Central Library. Patrons will develop life skills that allow them to grow as individuals and develop community together. Patrons will learn about acting methods

Measurable Outcome(s)

Midsummer Night's Dream: Patrons listened to scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream from an all-Black cast. Comments include: "It was an amazing experience! Loved it" and "It was so lively great actors!" and "I never want to see Midsummer any other way. Ever. Amazing!"

Act Out: 73% of participants learned more about theater, acting or voice projection. Comments included: "Presenter was very enthusiastic and interesting" and "Do more!"

zAmya Theater Project: 100% of surveyed participants stated that they learned new acting and theater skills; 85% stated that they will developed life skills that allowed them to develop community together. Comments include: "It is a chance to be heard!!" and "The only way to tell stories of homeless people is by having conversations with US". 71% stated they felt they were empowered to be a part of the decision making at the library's program.
