Summer Music Series - John Penny Trio
The John Penny Trio brings Jazz that swings, Bossa Nova that sways, and romantic ballads to dream to. Among the group are educators and former educators for literature and Jazz history that enjoy sharing thoughts on how the group works as a unit and on the history of this great American art. During the performance, informal conversation and questions from the audience are welcome in what we strive to have as a parlor-like setting for sharing Jazz, and its history and culture. John Penny and members of the trio have performed various styles of music as well as having composed music for film and theater. The focus of this performance, though, is classis jazz, the variety of Jazz with which most people are familiar.
