Take a whirlwind tour of India with artist Shakun Maheshwari. You will explore the customs and traditions of Indian culture, look at clothing, and learn words and phrases in Hindi. Then you will create a drawing/painting using traditional Indian designs.

Teens will work with local artists to explore customs and traditions of India and then create a drawing/painting using traditional designs; learn about traditional Fond Du Lac beading and create their own beadwork; learn the technique of paper marbling by grinding their own ink and creating their own decorated paper.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The teens who attended were able to learn not only the customs and traditions of India, but also create their own work using traditional designs. This program also featured the work of local Indian artist Shakun Maheshwari.
