One Book, One Minnesota: A Good Time for the Truth Author Discussion Series
A series of four discussions with essay authors from the One Book One Minnesota title A Good Time for the Truth. Each discussion will start with a presentation from the author discussing their essay from the book as well as race and racism in Minnesota's culture. After the presentation, the author will engage with the attendees in a facilitated question and answer session. The Reading for Fun Committee will have a list of questions to help guide this part of the discussion as needed and a member of the committee will co-facilitate with another SPPL staff member. The exact ratio of presentation to discussion is up to the author with the suggestion of 40/60 (20 minutes of talking and 40 minutes of discussion approximately). The programs will be limited to 30 attendees with a small waitlist, so as to support actual discussion around a complex and timely topic.
