Project Overview

Anoka County Library is celebrating its 60th anniversary at all locations. The public will help us celebrate the past, present and future with displays and activities for all ages. They will have the opportunity to record a favorite library story in our Sound Booth. A 60th Anniversary Celebration Video will be made.

The program will provide opportunities for artistic expression and demonstrate the role of the public library in the community through history.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Two traveling exhibits featuring photos and artifacts of Anoka County Library'ss history were displayed at all eight libraries over the course of the year. The 60th Anniversary video debuted at the celebration in November. It has been viewed more than 2000 times since then and will be used in future library presentations. An original rendering of the Northtown Library was hung in honor of the architect, who attended the celebration. Anoka County Library's Poet Laureate read at the celebration.
