Black Seeds: Participants will deepen their understanding of ancestral connections to land.

MN Black Author Expo: Participants will learn about local black authors. Participants will connect with a local community of black readers and authors.

Woodson Lecture Series: Participants will have a deeper understanding of Black history and racism in the United States.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Black Seeds: 95% of participants had a deepened understanding of ancestral connections to land. Comments include: "Love the added value in storytelling from the elders in our community" and "[I feel] pride in our youth!" and "[I feel] Radical feeling of relaxation, comfort and placement."

MN Black Author Expo: Participants learned about local black authors and connected with community of black readers and authors. Comments include: "I am so glad to see you all here again from the library. You all talked to me at the expo last year and now I have copies of my book in the libraries. I am so happy you're continuing to do this and be here."

Woodson Lecture Series: 89% of participants had a deeper understanding of Black history and racism in Minnesota and the US. 82% will continue to learn about topic by attending related events, 68% by engaging in conversations with others. Comments include: "[I liked] the myth busting of economics of slavery and it's impact on Minnesota" and ""very powerful lecture," "truth, openness and honesty," "excellent historical overview."
