Project Overview

Families will create visual art together at the Savage Library at monthly sessions led by local artists. Families will explore different art styles featuring a variety of interdisciplinary artistic techniques, and will be encouraged to further independently explore the styles & techniques.

Participants will gain experience working with the featured art technique and confidence in their ability to continue the technique after the event.

Measurable Outcome(s)

125 kids and their adults gained confidence and skill in these programs, each of which highlighted a different art technique (like painting, printing, & nature art). When asked "Did your children learn or improve an art technique today?", 21 of the 23 survey respondents answered "Yes". When asked "How likely are you to try things you learned in this program at home?" 18 out of 23 responded with "Strongly Agree".
