Musical Residency with Lucy Michelle
Local musician Lucy Michelle will perform four, prerecorded mini-concerts. Saint Paul Public Library will post the performances, one-at-a-time, on our website for the public to view. This takes the place of live music performances people would normally attend in libraries and other venues. Additionally, Lucy will share with the audience what she's listening to and reading while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visitors to our website will have the opportunity to enjoy original musical performances virtually. This will provide free arts and cultural entertainment to adults and families while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, and potentially introduce our patrons to new local musicians. The musicians will also share with the audience information about which musicians they've been listening to and books they've been reading during the COVID pandemic. Our patrons will have the opportunity to place holds on the music and books mentioned, and similar items for contactless pickup, or checkout via SPPL's digital library.
Audience members expressed appreciation for exposure to a local artist, and enjoyment in viewing/listening to the videos. Additionally, Lucy Michelle voiced gratitude for having the opportunity to perform music for a wide audience during a time she's unable to perform for live audiences. Finally, patrons placed holds on much of the material Lucy highlighted in our collection, as well as Lucy Michelle's music CDs.
