Project Overview

ArtStart will present several programs for adults and for school-age children. The programs will provide instruction and an opportunity to create projects to bring home. Artistic concepts presented include beading, painting, card and book making, and creating pieces of art from various scraps.

The programs will provide opportunities for artistic expression in the fine arts and in project-based crafts. The programs will allow exposure to professional working artists and will increase awareness of and knowledge of the visual arts.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The programs allowed exposure to professional working artists and increased awareness of and knowledge of the visual arts for people of a variety of ages and backgrounds. It allowed participants to practice art skills that might otherwise be unavailable to them due to financial constraints or other barriers. Of those surveyed, 92% indicated that they learned something helpful and intend to apply what they learned.
