Talk of the Streets - Fall-Winter 2018
A series spoken word workshops celebrating urban storytelling.
From August 1-September the Cargill Gallery at Minneapolis Central will host an art exhibited titled "We Are All Criminals" and feature conversations with guest speakers who are currently incarcerated.

For spoken word workshops: Patrons will have an opportunity to interact with another performer and writer from the Minneapolis spoken word community. Patrons will receive encouragement to continue their writing and performing.
Art exhibit: Participants exhibiting art will have an opportunity to anonymously tell their story. Attendees' perceptions of what it means to be a criminal will be challenged. Participants will have an opportunity to share their story, attendees will learn about the experiences of people with different experiences from their own.
Spoken word workshops: 100% of participants had an opportunity to interact with another performer for writer from the Minneapolis spoken word community. 100% felt encouraged to continue their writing and performances.
Art exhibit: 98% of participants learned about the works and experiences of of people with different experiences from their own.
