Teen Read Month: Book Ballots
Every October Washington County Library celebrates Teen Read Month with our annual Book Ballots program for teens. During the month of October teens vote for their favorite books in 5 different categories.
In 2018 the library partnered with Washington County middle schools and high schools for the annual Book Ballots program to celebrate Teen Read Month. The month long celebration placed area schools as official voting sites and included school visits to bring programming and books to area schools.

Teens and partner schools will experience participating in a county wide reading program while being introduced to new books and authors and creating a culture of reading and literacy that celebrates teen literature.
During the month of October teens voted for their favorite Book Ballot titles in 5 different categories. The month long celebration placed area schools as official voting sites and included school visits to bring programming and books to area schools. Nearly 400 teens and 17 partner schools experienced participating in this county wide reading program while being introduced to new books and authors and creating a culture of reading and literacy that celebrates teen literature.
