Hogwarts Prep: Art workshops
Participants ages 3-adult can choose from a variety of arts workshops and supplemental non-Legacy funded activities around the theme of getting ready to go to Hogwarts, culminating in two New Year's Eve Yule Balls (one family, one teen only).

Motivated by the popular Harry Potter book series, participants will gain expertise in the featured art medium and create a piece that they take pride in.
304 enthusiastic elementary, middle school, and high school kids (and sometimes their parents!) acquired new skills in a variety of artistic mediums at 12 Hogwarts Prep workshops and multiple Yule Ball activity stations. Project partner Teen Advisory Board (TAB) contributed assistance at all of the workshops, including 4 events where they planned and executed projects to decorate the Family and Teen Yule Balls held on New Year's Eve and attended by 135 people. Many attendees (11 out of 47 response) stated that a creative activity (making a wand, a mandrake, or wizard hat, for example) was their favorite part of the event. A roaming magician performed during both events and was often (10/47) as an attendee's favorite part of the event. The Hogwarts Yule Ball was co-staffed by ten TAB members and primarily funded by TAB; Preparing and hosting the event helped these teens develop event planning, creative, and presentation skills.
