Loud! In the Library
This ongoing open mic night and art exhibit at the Belle Plaine Library is a family-friendly event that provides a venue where performers and visual artists of all ages can showcase their talents in a supportive environment. Attendees are also invited to make an art craft.

Attendees will experience the joy of music and art in multiple formats in a small community where these experiences are difficult to find. Musicians and artists will experience a non-judgmental, competition-free venue to showcase their talents.
This, as it turns out, was Loud@the Library's final year. The popularity of the program had not dimmed (as evidenced by the attendance numbers), but several of the people involved in producing the program are moving on to other things.
As mentioned, attendance was still strong - both in terms of the audience and the performers and artists - and the people of the small town of Belle Plaine appreciated having the opportunity to hear live music and socialize with their friends and neighbors. Some of their comments: "The art making was fantastic!"; "Love the campfire and acoustic music."; "love family friendly event that is local"; and "Very inclusive." Performers and artists continued to feel "very strongly" that the atmosphere was non-judgmental and competition free, and that they were comfortable performing and/or displaying their art.
