REMOTE Hands On! Art Projects At Home
In response to the cancellation of our face-to-face Hands On art classes (due to COVID 19), we have worked with some of the same artists to create art projects that participants can do from home. These 5-6 classes will consist of the supplies needed to complete the project (either mailed to the participants' homes, or picked up at their local library during curbside pick-up), printed instructions, and a link to a video of the instructor demonstrating the project. In addition, the instructor will make their email address or other contact information available to participants to answer questions they may have for up to two weeks after the project begins.

From the safety of their homes, participants will acquire artistic skills and benefit from the creative process during this time of social distancing. They will benefit from the knowledge of the instructor via printed instructions, pre-recorded video, and by corresponding one-to-one via email, or speaking to the instructor by phone.
After the library closed, we knew we had disappointed customers that had registered for the rest of our Hands On art series of art classes. So we reached out to two of our local artists (both had been scheduled to teach Hands On classes), and were able to develop several art projects that could be made from home. The first class, Japanese Stab Stitch was mailed out, and we continued to offer mail out of supplies, until our curbside pickup began, then participants had the option of picking up supplies at the library as well. We created a postcard evaluation form that was included in the supplies packets, and participants were so thrilled to have this art option that our response rate for mail-back evaluations was pretty good.
