Duniya Drum and Dance & Native Pride Dancers
Duniya Drum & Dance and Native Pride Dancers will present live cultural performances at Washington County Library locations.
Duniya Drum & Dance shares traditional rhythms and dances from Guinea West Africa with the general community. Master Drummer Fode Bangoura introduces the audience to the djembe and doundoun drums while company members perform energetic dances in colorful costumes. A typical performance has audience joining in with call and response rhythm and song exercises as well as learning traditional movements to live drumming.
The Native Pride Dancers travel throughout the world to educate and entertain audiences of all ages about the beauty, skill, and majesty of Native American music and dance. Their mission is to educate, inspire, motivate and empower diverse communities to bridge cultural gaps through Indigenous traditions.
