Project Overview

Join us to celebrate Shannon Gibney's new novel Dream Country, which chronicles the journeys of one Liberian, Liberian American and African American family across two continents and 200 years. In Dream Country, Shannon Gibney spins a riveting tale of the nightmarish spiral of death and exile connecting America and Africa and how one determined young dreamer tries to break free and gain control of her destiny. Shannon Gibney is an author and professor at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. This special event will include a reading of book excerpts, a discussion with Gibney and St. Kate's Professor Dr. Taiyon Coleman, and an audience Q&A.
