Westminster Town Hall Forum: Features nationally acclaimed authors and speakers who give talks on diverse and pressing topics and are open to the public and broadcast live.

Cow Tipping Press: writing program series for adults with developmental disabilities.

Attendees will learn new writing skills, attendees will be encouraged to continue their writing.

Westminster Town Hall Forum: Participants learn about a national author. Participants share discussions following program.

Cow Tipping Press: Participants will create literary writing samples. Participants will share their unique perspectives through writing. Participants will experiment with writing in different genres/forms.
Participants' work will be compiled into a book and published/made available to others.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Loft First Pages: 64% of participants tried writing. 89% learned a new tool or skill to improve their writing. Comments include: "This session was excellent. It has helped and encouraged me to get back to my novel. I also learned new information about where to submit a query letter for my book. Thank you for this session" and "It was great to get a realistic perspective on the children's book industry" and "Whether I do this to make money, or for my personal "bucket list" to share with others, I would feel like I accomplished a personal goal. "

Cow Tipping Press: 100% of participants tried writing and shared their unique perspectives through writing. 100% learned about different types of writing styles. 50% enjoyed writing poetry the most. 80% will continue writing. Participants' writing was published in an anthology.

Westminster Town Hall Forum: Participants learned about a national author and shared discussions with the author. Comments include: I was able to listen to Katheen Belew speak on MPR yesterday while driving to a home visit. I am a Public Health Nurse working with high-risk pregnant and parenting teens in Ramsey county. I want to understand the topic more and what we can do to address the concerns" and Kudos for today's Forum. A powerful presentation by Kathleen Belew and a masterful job of facilitating by the Forum's moderator. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from events such as this" and My son attended the forum today with the Blake School. This is how I learned about your speaker. I streamed the forum and found it extremely interesting and important. Thank you for what you are doing for the community.
