The Zinghoppers "Paws to Read" program was developed around the 2014 Summer Reading Program theme. It's a musical concert journey to the zoo, involving audience participation, dancing and singing. The program also promotes books and reading.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Promote reading during the summer, use of the public library and develop the habit of reading by drawing in reluctant readers with this activity. Provide an opportunity for a family activity. Participant evaluations/surveys will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Registered five children for the summer reading program and three preschoolers for the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program.

The following libraries partnered in this program: Ivanhoe, Rock, Tracy, Meinders, Lake Benton, Jackson, Lakefield, Mt. Lake, Heron Lake, Minneota and Fulda.

These libraries shared the cost of the program.

KLGR radio station provided free air time and listed in the KLGR Community Events calendar
District #640 ECFE promoted the library's Summer Reading Program and listed it on the ECFE calendar.
Wabasso Standard provided a news article.
