Beginning Genealogy - Molly Schweinfurter
We expect the participants to come away with a better understanding of the resources available to them when they begin searching for their ancestors.
A second outcome from the program is that residents of Ivanhoe and the surrounding area will see the library as valuable resource for information, not only help with researching family history, but also help with locating other types of information. Anecdotal responses will be collected
The attendees all had varying levels of experience in researching their family history, however they all came to learn more about genealogy research and to find new websites to access when researching their family history. The participants found several new websites they did not realize were available to them. all of the participants expressed an interest in attending Molly's advanced workshop. Several people who could not be at the presentation asked for copies of Molly's handouts.
The Ivanhoe Community Center provided space for the program. The Lake Benton Library shared program costs.
