Pioneer women in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were integral parts of our rural communities and made important economic, cultural and political contributions. Dr. Talsma is a local historian and college professor who has done extensive research on the subject.

Attendees will learn about the life of pioneers who settled our region. The program will challenge their beliefs about the pioneer women who made great contributions to our communities and give them new insights into an important part of our history.

We received numerous positive comments about this presentation, and requests to bring the speaker back again. Attendees commented that they learned a lot about the contributions that pioneer women made to their families and communities. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses were collected.
