Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

This presentation will spark an interest in Minnesota history and show younger people that often times their own backyard is filled with cool and interesting history. This can serve as road trip stimulator for people to get out there and travel Minnesota in hopes of learning about the state themselves.  Participant evaluation/surveys and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Audience was encouraged to get a guidebook and do their own road trips to discover Minnesota's varied and interesting past. There were several people in the audience who had never attended a presentation at the library and were very enthusiastic about getting out to delve into historic places. Library staff was approached after the program and in the following week asking where we would be hosting another program such as this.

Participant evaluation/surveys and anecdotal responses were used.

Source of Additional Funds

Friends of the Slayton Public Library provided PR support and refreshments at the presentation.

KJOE radio station made public service announcements to promote the program.

The City of Slayton posted program announcements on the local channel.
