Project Overview
Chad Lewis will present a program based on his book Minnesota's Most Haunted Locations-the Scariest Places of Minnesota. His presentation will take the audience on a ghostly journey to some of the most haunted places in Minnesota. It will cover the entire state from wandering ghosts in the north woods to the haunted B & B in Wabasha, from phantom creatures prowling the woods to graveyard apparitions located in their own backyard. The presentation is complete with photos, case history, eyewitness accounts, ghost lore and directions.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

This program will encourage people to check out other Chad Lewis books from the library. Chad's program will also encourage participants to check into their local lore or history. The library has a collection of local history books and I could see people checking them out to research local legends and lore. This program will also allow the community to see the Ivanhoe Library as a place that offers great programs and entertaining activities making them realize that we are a valuable part of the community. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Many of the participants told me they enjoyed the program. They were surprised at how much research Chad Lewis had done on each site. They enjoyed learning the historical aspects behind each haunted location and were pleasantly surprised when Chad Lewis told them they needed to decide for themselves if they believed in haunted locations. Many of the participants also told me they would be interested in checking his books out from the library.

Source of Additional Funds

The Ivanhoe Community Center provided space for the program. The Community Ed program in Ivanhoe helped with promotion of the program, and the Tyler Public Library helped with publicity.
