Project Overview
Mary grew up in Kimball Township in Jackson county in the 1940s and 1950s. She is the third generation of the Henry Von Ohlen family and her nephew Nick lives on the original farm. Her path took her out of the county but her memories of growing up on that farm remain strong. She read excerpts from her book, "Growing in Kimball," and had an open discussion with the audience.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Those attending the program will enjoy a trip down memory lane when Mary talks about growing up in a rural Jackson county setting. This will spark a discussion about the historical and cultural differences of growing up over 70 years ago and today.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I learned of an interesting book to read. "The discussion brought back childhood memories." "So many fun memories of my childhood." "Thank you for organizing this program. I appreciate having programs at the library." Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses were gathered.
