Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing, aka The Okee Dokee Brothers, are the Grammy award winning duo who perform American folk music. With a goal to inspire children and their parents to get outside and get creative, they believe they can motivate kids to gain a greater respect for the natural world, their communities and themselves.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Preschoolers and their caregivers will learn more about areas in the United States and about the folk music genre. They will also learn about the earth, camping and other outdoor events. We hope this will encourage an appreciation of the outdoors and other areas of the country as well as the folk music genre. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Audience enthusiasm and participation during the concert was great. Adult comments; "Fantastic program....the kids are still singing the songs. Great family activity."
The count of attendance was divided amongst the four libraries participating in this program. (Total of 493)

Source of Additional Funds

Redwood Falls, Morgan and Lamberton public libraries were included in the program contract.

Redwood Area Community Center donated the use of the room.

Radio stations KNUJ and KLGR provided free air time promoting the program.

Wabasso Standard newspaper ran an article about the program.

Head star, District #640 and St. Anne Elementary brought the children from Wabasso on buses.
