Buster the Magic Reading Clown - Duane Blake
Buster the Magic Reading Clown will present a special interactive story time. He will talk about the library's history and read a book by a Minnesota author. He will hand out diplomas to the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" graduates. He will promote reading and engage the children in a question and answer interchange. Duane Blake is an institution in the town of Tyler as he was a kindergarten teacher there until his retirement.

Children will learn about the history of the library, participate in an interactive story time and attend the graduation of the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program. Adults who attend will also hear about the library history and renew their appreciate for it. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
There was much fun and laughter; children made a ladybug craft and those who graduated received a book as a gift. Children also received a 'Read' bracelet.
Ivanhoe Public Library hosted a crafts table and donated materials - $20.00
The United Way of Southwest Minnesota provided certificates and support for their "1000 Books" program
