Mehndi Moon Henna - Judy Ostrowski
Judy Ostrowski is an artist and designer from Minneapolis whose program consists of education about the origins and culture of the ancient art form of henna. She demonstrates the application of the distinctive form of body art and participants are able to have unique henna art applied at no cost during the program.

Patrons will become familiar with another author and her works. They may choose to read a book outside of what they normally read and may gain a new understanding and appreciation for Irish culture, the stories, and the music of Ireland. Learning about another country and its culture and traditions is always a good learning experience for all ages.
Many patrons expressed interest in her books after hearing Erin speak. They also enjoyed Paddy's stories of growing up in Ireland and many purchased his memoir. Some patrons indicated that they learned something new about peat bogs and their uses throughout Irish history. patrons also indicated that they loved the music and information about the instruments that were played. Participant evaluation and anecdotal responses were collected.
Friends of the Library provided refreshments, newspaper allowed space to promote the program.
The public will have the opportunity to learn the art of henna as the practice, materials and culture of henna will be presented to the participants. Participation surveys and anecdotal responses will be collected.
