Book of Killowen and the Road from Castlebarnagh - Erin Hart and Paddy O'Brien
As people, places and artifacts from the past come alive through projected images, Paddy plays a few tunes on button accordion and offers tales of his adventures growing up in a thatched house in rural Ireland. Erin might sing an ancient song as she spins the story of her latest novel, a knotty mystery inspired by a true discovery: a 9th century book of psalms preserved in an Irish bog.

It is hoped that this program taking place on St. Patrick's Day will be an opportunity to learn about Irish culture and music, as well as writing. Both presenters are authors and musicians so it will provide a unique experience for the Lake Benton community and surrounding area to enjoy a book talk along with authentic Irish music. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
Participants learned about the Irish history and culture. They also learned about the process Erin uses to write her novels. Participants learned traditional Irish songs and heard a variety of Irish music styles.
Redwood Falls, Tracy & Marshall libraries partnered to schedule programs at the same time.
