Author Rena Olson discusses her life, the process of getting a book published, and reads from part of her book, "The Girl Before". The author also held a question and answer session following her lecture.

Author visits let the public meet and interact with the author. This program will give the local people exposure to literature and perhaps entice a story out of them. Rena Olson has many family and friends in the Windom area and there is always a sense of pride in a hometown celebrity. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
People were very interested in the subject matter of Rena Olson's book and also the publishing process that she went through. It was a great program and the author did a wonderful job. Comments included: "I read the book so I wanted to meet the author." "Fun to listen to". "Great to have an author talk."
The Friends of the Library provided refreshments ($20.00); KDOM Radio Station provided promotional time.
