Music From the Backyard and Front Porch - Lauren Pelon
This concert of American music will expand the knowledge of those attending by showing the importance of local stories and music. It will spark new interest in the music of indigenous peoples, as well as the songs and instruments of America's immigrants.
The audience left with a greater appreciation for historical areas of Minnesota, but, more importantly, the stories behind those places that Doug discovered in his research and photographing of them. Participants recognize the many valuable programs Tracy Public Library is having, and has had, especially using Legacy grants.
Jackson County Central (JCC) Community Education provided the JCC Performing Arts Center free of charge, workers to assist Lauren with setup/breakdown of equipment, workers for tech booth sound and lighting, and public relations. KKOJ provided free radio ads and an interview with the performer. Our Friends group provided volunteers to hand out programs and sell CDs.
