Chalk it Up With Barb (Barb Nelson)
We expect each child to complete a minimum of two pieces of art work. At the completion of the program they will have an understanding of drawing techniques, shading and a little about framing. They will have an understanding of how an artist works with chalk. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
Each child completed a minimum of two pieces of art--a landscape and a still life. They were taught how to set up, shade, paint and chalk a still life. Barb worked closely with each child teaching them art skills so they could create a picture they were proud of. All participants responded that they would like to learn more about art and would be interested in taking more classes from Barb Nelson.
The Ivanhoe Community Center donated space for the art program. Community Ed helped promote the program.
