Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Children will learn classic folk songs and learn about traditional folk instruments.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Several adult community members attended, including some developmentally disabled residents and they really enjoyed the music. Several people stayed after to visit with the artist and look more closely at the instruments. Children were asked to put stickers by their favorite instrument that they'd like to learn to play and the hammered dulcimer and jaw harp were the two big winners. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses were collected.

Source of Additional Funds

The Marshall radio provided air time during the library's bi-monthly radio show; the local newspaper gave a discount on the ad and did a brief PSA, the Friends of the Library helped to promote the program and the other three libraries having the same program helped to promote as well.
