This is a two-part writing class concentrating on voice in writing. “Voice” describes a writer conveying a tone to a piece that is so distinct that the reader gets a sense of the person behind the pen. The class is limited to 20 participants.

Participants will learn about the importance of voice in writing. They will also learn techniques to let their own voice emerge in their written work. Multiple genres will be covered.
Measurable Outcome(s)
Participants read literature to identify effective use of voice in writing. They wrote and critiqued each other's work. Evaluations show that attendees are now more comfortable and skilled at the use of voice in their writing.
