Join Slam Master Cynthia French in this
spoken-word poetry competition. The
breakdancing group, New Heist Crew will perform and the winners of the Library’s poetry contest will be announced. Slam competitors should arrive at 1:30 p.m. to register.
Coordinated by Caponi Art Park, the Dakota County Library system and teens from the School of Environmental Studies.

Teens, ages 12-19, will compete in a poetry slam competition and be entertained by the rhythm of dance and words.
Measurable Outcome(s)
The breakdancers were incredible! They got the crowd involved as four dancers took turns moving to the music for a half-hour performance in direct sun. The audience of diverse ages (the youngest was 18 months; the oldest was a senior citizen) all were transfixed by the performance.
