Knitting Check-in #2 with the Textile Center
Teens who participated in the initial workshop can get additional guidance from professional instructors, and continue relationships with other students.
Comments from hosting librarian: , I thought the format and projects were well matched to the interests and abilities of teens. I especially liked that almost anyone could complete an entire project in the first class (a knitted bookmark), and of course, the added bonus of getting to take yarn and needles home encouraged the teens to stay on task the entire time. The follow-up sessions allowed everyone to get help and encouragement on the projects they were working on, and the instructor brought some other simple patterns to help nudge the teens in a direction where they could be successful (headbands, scarves, etc.)
