Project Overview
Learn to knit! This is a quick first lesson that will help you cast on and start your first knitting project. We will provide needles and some yarn to get you started and teach you what it means to k2tog, how to pick the right needles and yarn and more. (Additional fee for this class covers the cost of a set of knitting needles and a skein of yarn that will go home with each student.)

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Teens will learn the basics of knitting and go home with tools to continue the experience.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Comments from the hosting librarian: Lauren, the instructor, was very knowledgeable... one thing I think she'll learn with more experience is the balance of providing helpful information without overwhelming someone with too much information. She had a good selection of yarn colors that would have worked for girls or boys, and she encouraged the attenders to chose a ball of yarn and needles they liked to take home and practice knitting with. Becka called early to confirm because the offices were closed during that week, which I appreciated a lot! I didn't get the sort of turn out I had been hoping for, but I did knit a bookmark.
