Twin Cities Book Festival Children's Pavilion
Connect 200 children and parents/caregivers to Minnesota authors/illustrators and their books. Engage participants in music, performances and hands-on activites related to reading.
The Children's Pavilion at the 2011 Twin Cities Book Festival attracted 250 young readers and their parents/caregivers. The program offered six author readings, and three performing artists. Children were able throughout the day to connect one-on-one with various presenters. In addition there were writing workshops and comic drawing instruction. There was also an area with fun, interactive activities that boost vocabulary and language skills. Having real bugs and an entomologist enhanced the bug-themed books by visiting authors as well as a supply of nonfiction titles from the library.
