Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Bringing in an author to the area will give the audience the opportunity to hear first hand about the process of writing, from idea to the printed word. This is also a chance to speak to someone whose writings are well known throughout the state and country. The library patrons have long been asking if it would be possible to bring Mr. Krueger to the library as they have seen such programs advertised in other areas of Plum Creek as well as in South Dakota. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The evening of the program brought in a good crowd but we had been hoping for more. The Varsity boys' baseball team were competing at the state level and that took away some of the planned audience. Those things happen and we had a solid crowd for a Tuesday night in Adrian.

More than 40 people participated in our photo sessions that were used to publicize the event ("Caught Reading a William Kent Krueger Book"). The day after the program in Adrian, WKK stopped at our library for a photo shoot with our Dragons, the official mascots of the library, and posted it on his Facebook page.

After WKK's visit, he gave our library four audio books for our collection. Two of them were not owned by any library in the Plum Creek system. The program was a success with lots of positive feedback from patrons for weeks after the program.
