Gallimaufry - Dave Pengra & Ron Arsenault
Gallimaufry is an interactive children-focused program performed by Mankato musicians Ron Arsenault and Ron Pengra. Arsenault was an elementary school teacher for 30 years and Pengra worked for the Mankato Public schools for 25 years. This fun and silly performance is sure to have parents and kids alike dancing and laughing. The concert will be the kickoff of the summer reading program to get kids excited about visiting the library and attending programs and reading throughout the summer. There will be 4 performances, 1 in Jackson, 2 in Lakefield and 1 in Heron Lake.

The goal is to get more children involved with the summer reading programs and reading throughout the summer. Music helps us get in touch with our emotions and enhances our ability to communicate. It also engages the brain while stimulating neural pathways associated with abstract thinking, empathy, and mathematics. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Schools:
Riverside Elementary, Pleasantview Elementary, Heron Lake Okabena, and Immanuel Lutheran, provided time during the school day to allow the children to attend the concert and also provided school auditoriums at no cost.
