Fascinating Loons - Stan Tekiela
Loons have fascinated people for thousands of years. Stan Tekiela has spent over 20 years studying and photographing them for his book, "Fascinating Loons" and for his presentations. Image after image is filled with stunning pictures of loons in all their splendor and glory. Stan answers questions about loons such as, "Do they mate for life?", "Do the same loons return to the same lake each year?" and many more.

Attendees will learn about many different aspects of the loon including where they go when they migrate, how many young are raised each breeding season, the different species of loons and the dangers to the look as a species population. Participant evaluations will be collected.
Everyone learned many new attributes about Minnesota's state bird, the loon. There were members of an organized bird watching group in attendance and they were delighted with the program as they had traveled from as far as Fairmont, Jackson and Lakefield to take part in the presentation.
