The Book of Killowen and the Road from Castlebarnagh - Erin Hart and Paddy O'Brien
Patrons will become familiar with another author and her works. They may choose to read a book outside of what they normally read and may gain a new understanding and appreciation for Irish culture, the stories, and the music of Ireland. Learning about another country and its culture and traditions is always a good learning experience for all ages.
Participants learned about the Irish history and culture. They also learned about the process Erin uses to write her novels. Participants learned traditional Irish songs and heard a variety of Irish music styles. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses were collected.
Lake Benton Opera House provided space, Marshall, Tracy and Redwood Falls library also hosted Erin and Paddy and shared travel costs.
