Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Parents and children will enjoy challenging, creative play which will enhance cognitive and behavioral skills. It may encourage participants to try lego building or perhaps try it on a larger scale even. Knowledge of the author/artist will help parents find books that might be of interest to their child. Experiencing the Arboretum and the outdoors will give children and families confidence, add to their creativity and imagination, and teach the appreciation of gardens as art.
Adults enjoyed the flower gardens, tram ride, learning stations/classes (tomato tasting and vegetable gardening), and the Lego sculptures. Children enjoyed the Natural Playspace, learning about plants, the Lego sculptures, and the hiking.
Partnered with the Wabasso library and shared bus costs. The Apple Gourd Community Garden provided lunch and snacks.
