Project Overview
The program presenters are members of the Ojibwe from Bad River and the Cherokee tribes. the Keepers program includes the "Voice from the Past" native storytelling and the "Dance Native Style" native dance programs. Stories told will be from the Ojibwe and other tribal traditions. The intertribal dancing style will include the Fancy Shawl dance, the Jingle dance, and the Men's Traditional dance. Audience members will be invited to participate in some of the dances. This program will teach and celebrate the traditions and culture of local Native American tribes.

The community will learn about the Ojibwe and Cherokee cultures. The participants will gain a better understanding of Native American cultures, which may lead to better relationships within the community. Interest in the Native American culture will be renewed in the community. The community will gain a better understanding of multiple Native American cultures.

Through the traditional stories, the community of Lake Benton learned about both the Ojibwe and Cherokee cultures.
