The Zinghoppers
The Zinghoppers will give the audience a greater appreciation for music and dance, along with encouraging children to read and use their public library.
The library will be seen by many parents and daycare centers as a place that can encourage their child's love of reading and music, realizing that these activities are important to their child's development. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
The Zinghoppers promoted the library and the summer reading program with the musical Paws to Read songs and program. Children enjoyed the uplifting music that had them humming tunes long after the Zinghoppers left. The library is seen as a valuable part of the Ivanhoe community by bringing fun, entertaining programs that can be shared by parents and their children.
The Ivanhoe Community Center provided space for the program.
The Ivanhoe Community Education helped promote the program.
The public libraries in the contract provided their own contributions for the program.
Partners were 12 public libraries including: Tracy, Wabasso, Rock, Meinders, Lake Benton, Jackson, Westbrook, Lakefield, Mountain Lake, Heron Lake, Minneota and Fulda.
