Discussion topics include gardening techniques, how to utilize Minnesota-hardy plants in a garden/landscape setting, renewable/sustainable energy and many more. Those who attend this program will leave with tips on a nicer, greener, organized garden, and the pleasure of spending a day among beautiful gardens.
Participants learned about flower gardens, vegetable gardens, taking care of the land, removing scent from cattle and hog barns, how same plants grow in different types of soil. All learned something they did not know before the trip including how to cut up a hog, how to cook these same pieces over a fire, how to arrange plants in a garden to benefit the soil as well as the other plants. Also how to benefit the insects that live in these places as well. Participants stated they enjoyed the beautiful gardens, the important information regarding birds & habitat, and that the staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable.
