Thoma will discuss his book, "Out of the Blue" about the the F5 tornado that hit Tracy in 1968. The story is told through the eyes of two sisters that were blown out the back door of their house and survived.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
Participants would learn about the historic Tracy tornado and Minnesota tornadoes in general. We hope to couple this with some general information on storm safety awareness.
Measurable Outcome(s)
Many people commented on what a nice presentation it was and how much they enjoyed it. It struck the right tone between fun and serious and caused many in the audience to think about their own tornado safety plans.
Source of Additional Funds
Friends of the Fairfax Public Library promoted the event in the local paper and provided refreshments as well as purchasing a book to give away at the end of the event.
