Bus trip to Hjemkomst Center & Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festival
Attendees will increase their knowledge of Viking and Norwegian culture. Since many people in Minnesota have Scandinavian backgrounds, this event will help create a greater understanding of the country their ancestors came from. For those attending who are not Scandinavian - they will come away with an understanding of a culture they may not have known anything about.
An increased knowledge of Viking & Norwegian (Scandinavian) culture. Comments included 'I learned of Viking burial traditions and more about the climate changes throughout the ages in the Scandinavian countries. Both of these have interested me enough for further study.' and ' The Hjemkomst Museum and the Viking re-enactment were great learning experiences for all ages!' 'It is great to be getting out to take in programs we would not have a chance to attend otherwise. Loved the experience!'
