Project Overview
The zoo naturalist brought several Minnesota animals including: a bull snake, chinchilla, owl, and some insects. She described each animal, their unique characteristics, and life in Minnesota. She brought students up to the stage to take part in the presentation and therefore kept the attention of all the students. They were great listeners, learned new facts, were enthusiastic with questions, and enjoyed the presentation.

Attendees will gain knowledge about Minnesota animals and come away with a greater understanding and appreciation of them.
Measurable Outcome(s)
A student who had a fear of snakes no longer does and wants to learn more about snakes. The students were excited to learn about the animals and wanted more information from books. They thought the owl was fascinating. The naturalist easily answered all the students questions. Each student had the opportunity to touch the snake and other animal furs. They appreciated this opportunity as many of them had never been near a snake before. Over 90% of the students wanted more information and wanted another program.
