Author discussed the many challenges of homesteading 100 miles south of the Arctic Circle and 77 miles north of Mt. McKinley in Alaska. He also appeared at our library book discussion club.

Minnesota native and author Duane Ose will discuss his book "Alaskan Wilderness Adventure." Attendees will learn much about homesteading and living off the land in the wilds of Alaska 77 miles north of Mt. McKinley.

Measurable Outcome(s)

People learned quite a bit about homesteading and all the challenges involved. This included information about Alaskan law and politics plus some bonus info about yetis....which he claims live around his area.

Source of Additional Funds

Radio provided free advertising plus librarian highlighted the program during his Friday afternoon library radio show. Newspaper did a special promo of a couple of pages with pictures. Library provided space.
